Amber is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and has been working with children and families for over 10 years. Amber obtained her Masters of Science in Clinical Counseling degree from Bellevue University in 2012 and her BA in Counseling from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. Amber has worked at the highest level of care for several years in both In-patient (hospital) treatment and residential treatment centers to serve children through adults who have experienced trauma. Amber is trained in IoWa Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (IoWa-PCIT) with a focus on attachment as well as TFCBT (trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy). She is trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention through the Crisis Prevention Institute. Amber also has specialized training in working with children and families affected by sexual abuse and/or problematic sexual behavior (Rsafe Clinical Endorsements Training). Amber is married with two boys. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and playing sports.
